Fan for power generation application

Challenge

Customer was having trouble with excessive vibration and alignment problems due to the use of a commercially available but inadequate bearing, based on the fan load. The bearing that they needed for best performance was too long for the designed outline.

Solution

Illinois Blower custom-designed our Uniblock Bearing, a single bearing capable of fitting into the designed space and also able to handle the fan loads.

Benefits

Customer had better control of alignment, greater fan reliability, dramatically fewer breakdowns, saving not only operational fan costs but also eliminating system outages due to the initial condition.
